Hello.

I love what I do and look for inspiration in everything I do.

This blog is designed to allow everyone to see what I am up to now.  That will usually include my business and photography activities, but I will occasionally put things on here about my life, family, and thoughts.  This is a place that I can let you get to know me a little more personally.

I have a huge passion for creating moments that will be forever treasures for those people that I work with.  Let me share that with you.

I am a Minnesota girl, but as of November 2009 I will reside in the great state of Oklahoma!  If you live in Oklahoma give me a call so we can meet for your photography needs!

Feel free to leave a comment.  I love hearing what you have to say!

Danny and Sarah | Minnesota Wedding Photography

I was heading out for Ames, IA the day after Christmas for a wedding rehearsal.  I got a voicemail saying that my new Canon 5d Mark ii was in!  So we made a special stop by to pick it up on our way.  The following day was the wedding of Danny and Sarah.  Danny is a long time friend of my husband Matt who was in the wedding.  Since I had nothing else to do ( I wasn’t the photographer) I had fun playing with my new toy.

As far as my thoughts on the camera it is SHARP!  But, I am coming from a Canon 30d so the difference is huge for me and I am loving it.  I shot everything JPG since I had not received CS4 yet.  I also shot with all the factory settings.  I found some of the images came out a little warmer with a magenta tone than I am not used to.  I also was aware of the slow autofocus on the old 5d which I wasn’t used to on my 30d (why the cheaper model was faster I don’t know).  This new model was also slow for me.  During the dancing I had it in al servo which helped.  The video mode was fun.  I found that it was reasonable shooting in low light and I was able to adjust the exposure while shooting.  However in some other darker situations the video is very grainy and all my blacks look horrible.  I am not sure what sort of editing software is out there to help this.  It will take time to learn lighting techniques in order for this to be worth using.  That is something I am not ready for yet.  Overall I liked it and and excited to get to know it better.

Here are some images that I shot with the camera.  These were all shot JPG and edited with Totally Rad Actions or Kevin Kubota Actions.
